Really excited about maybe growing real onions. They have been in a month. I made three long mounds of fresh garden soil. I am 8B northeast of Houston. Any idea how long before the onions start to bulb? I know they take awhile to mature into real onions.

I grew onions the last couple years in NE Texas (not this year.) I planted small starts/sets (not seeds) and most of them made bulbs by late spring (May/June.) They were “Vidora” onions from Hoss in Georgia. (Short day.) I grew them in large grow bags, not raised beds. (Not the best way, but it was all I had.) Both years, I got a late start; didn’t get them planted until middlle December. Good luck with your crop! They look real nice at this stage!
