Might have some merit to it. We smoke food with various types of wood for flavor, so I suppose getting the smoke of various herbs on to what you’re grilling could be good.

It might also just add a terrible acrid taste to stuff.

    I’m skeptical, but open minded.

What? You use different types of coal, wood and say that it changes the flavor. Why not this!!!!!1!

Edit: seriously guys? Do i literally have to type โ€œ/sโ€ at the end and style, including the raging exclamation marks with the hint of number 1 in it AND THE SUB WE ARE IN are not enough for you to understand that this is sarcasm?

This is the opposite of what Hank Hill taught us. She had strayed too far from His teachings

Well, there are ways to season the charcoal, but I don’t think onion and paprika have any utility. Rosemary, some woods or Lemon Verbena do change the odor of the smoke.

  5. MeatSlammur

I think the charcoal would burn the seasonings rather than smoke them like it does with wood

I misread this as โ€œsingingโ€ and I was like โ€œok thatโ€™s weird but kind of charmingโ€ and then I reread it and realized what it really said..

I always marinate my charcoals overnight in brine so the food stays moist and juicy.

You can pour aromatic things over charcoal to create steam mid cook – like beer when cooking sausages or apple cider vinegar with pork – I have had success with these but I donโ€™t think onions, or spices will do anything other than burn unless actually in contact with the food you are cooking

  9. boon_doggl

Too bad they donโ€™t give a review of how it turned out for the food.

  10. Limp_Marionberry_24

white people don’t season they charcoal ๐Ÿ˜ญ

  11. Doggored45

She needs a wood smoker so she can pick whatever wood flavor she wants.

The correct way of seasoning charcoal is right before meal in is done add wet stuff, that creates an aromatic smoke. This will most likely just become black then nothing. .

    Carbon is a seasoning?

  15. reddridinghood

Wouldnโ€™t that be cancerous?? Spices getting burned in this high heat probably releasing toxins? Isnโ€™t the whole point of seasoning to be added at the end for this reason and not burned to death!?

  16. rabbitsplayatnight

I season my charcoal not my steak

  17. Drie_Kleuren

When smoking I can understand. But the charcoal for a grill will just burn. So everything will burn. You don’t get any flavours or stuff from that. It will probably smell terrible. Cremated onions don’t smell good๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  18. Wardog_E

Have you tried eating charcoal with no seasoning? Disgusting! ๐Ÿคฎ

  19. Dismal-Twist-8273

Thatโ€™s going to smell acrid as fuck.

  20. LDA-1994

I’ve dropped onion by mistake when starting the grill and if deff smells better than just the charcoal lighting up

  21. Mediocre_Bell_5889

Who’s this for furnace? This doesn’t even make sense

  22. HunterFun4443

I guarantee the meat won’t have an ounce of seasoning on it.

  23. panecakeko

I season my fire because that’s where the flavor comes from.

  24. Malbosiiq

No. Probably throws the meat on the coals, if you’re doing this nonsense.

  25. eazypeazy303

Mmmmm. Nothing tastes better than the essence of scorched onion.

  26. Beans-Ricee

Juat clean the grates with an onion when theyre hot

  27. Powerful_Speech3602

MahCharko.. is that an Island? She vacations to an Island?

  28. dangus1155

At least we know there will be seasoning. Unlike some cookouts.

  29. ElectricPenguin6712

Kingsford sells charcoal with seasoning inside. Never heard anyone say it transferred to the food but the smell from the smoke was good.

  32. BakeyWakey99

lol ts gonna burn and its gonna be nasty

  33. krystal_295

See, now THIS is stupid food! Bravo! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ

  34. DoubleCactus

I feel like the onion isn’t a crazy idea, but all the powder seasoning will just burn away instantly and maybe be a bit acrid. Though I doubt red onion is the move here.

  35. LosHtown

I’ve used onions or garlic in the fire but not actual dry seasoning.

  36. CelticSpoonie

I used to love the smell of garlic and spices on the (wood) campfire when we’d camp. Not sure it would work the same with charcoal.

  37. Natural-Coat-3159

I bet she uses lighter fluid too.ย
