Oh my god they’re ADORABLE!!!!!! I would put apple butter in them!

  3. americanbroomstick

Apple butter, weed butter, homemade salves, and lotions etc.

I use them for jams that I plan to give as gifts and nothing else. The jar shape gives the gift a little extra something something. I never expect to get back jars I give as gifts.

They look cute but they are expensive, don’t fit in the fridge well and they are a pain to get the jam or jelly out of.

    THOSE ARE MY FAVORITE JARS

I will literally buy them off you.

Anything that having a tall jar of would make using the particular contents difficult. Balms, butters etc.

  7. I bought those years ago and hate them, probably still have a few in the spare cabinet. I can see how they would be nicer for non food things.

If you hand me full of apple butter and a fried biscuit I will be upset.

These are fantastic jars not only for gifts but also for a lovely craft I saw where you make a pin cushion out of a lid and then store the pins in the jar below. Lots of variations can be made on this I’m sure.

I use them for jams and this year I made charcuterie gift baskets for everyone and put my famous olive tapenade in these!

I was at an antique store a couple a days ago and some had superglued these onto candle stick holders. Looked like weird/cute mason jar martini glasses

Jam. Apple butter. 3 or 4 different types make a great gift.
    I also store seeds.

I use them for anything I plan on sharing… (fruit butters, jellies/jams, etc.)

for things that you eat with your fingers. pickled peppers, preserved olives, candied fruit and citrus.

    Seeds

Edit: oops I didn’t notice this is the canning sub. My answer stays the same, but I’m aware it makes no sense for this sub lol

  16. I use them for gifts, too. I especially like them for chunky spreads like chutneys or very fruitful jams- they are easy to scoop from with a spoon.

  17. LickableLeo

I use things like this for storing safety pins or paper clips lol

I use them for pepper jelly, piccalilli, and sometimes small amounts of dark/ cooking maple syrup that I want for home use near the end of my boil and don’t feel like wasting a ‘pretty’ container on for storage.
