The early 2000s were an especially stupid time for food. Remember the special colored bottles of ketchup?

I feel like it’s hard to accept your statement as fact when the stupid food of today sailed far past this lol

    I had forgotten about this!

Why would anyone want their fries to look like Barney had his way with them?

I remember my brother and I being so excited and not only did it not taste right but it made me egg yolk a very unpleasant grey colour and my dog sniffed it and walked away

I remember the purple and green “flavors.” I was not enticed to try either. What blew my mind was the sheer amount of people who thought this stuff was amazing. People started to panic buy when it was going to be discontinued. I don’t think I’ll ever get it.

Mom bought this for us once and never again. Stained all the plates.

Remember when Heinz had like 57 different kinds of ketchup on the shelves all at once and now we only have one?

One time my family was going to a get together and my mom was going to bring BBQ beans so she asked my dad to help her make it. The recipe called for ketchup and the only ketchup we had, apparently, was the green shrek ketchup, so he used that. Yall, it looked like straight up diarrhea. My mom got pissed, they started fighting, and we didnt end up going to the get together. Good times.

I had the green ketchup and one of my 20 year old friends at the time was afraid to eat it.

I always hated the colored ketchup. No way you could ever convince me they taste the same.

How can I forget? Reddit reminds me every other month

  24. Even as a kid I never wanted those because they look gross. But what I did want was the peanutbutter and jelly in the same jar. Which my mother refused to buy

I remember seeing these in ads and I wanted to try it but I was too young to understand what it was and my vocabulary was very limited so I never asked for it 😔

The worst thing was this: it tasted the same. Totally the same. Just a different food dye. Literally nobody could pass a blind taste test. Nobody.

  27. kirtknee

I was OBSESSED. I didnt even really like ketchup that much. My family watched in horror. 10/10 would buy again.

  28. Feeling-Decision-902

No, this is purely a Yank thing
