A new upscale tasting room and market with homemade pastas is getting ready to open in Loudoun County. It’s called Oak & Ember.
Oak & Ember is coming to 39285 Little River Turnpike in Aldie. That’s the former home of The Black Market restaurant, which closed in September. Before that, the building was the Aldie Country Store.
The new establishment is the work of Christian Puccio, the longtime general manager at Ahso Restaurant in Brambleton. After eight years with Ahso, he’s branching out and opening his own place.
“We’re a farm to table market and tasting room,” said Puccio, describing his vision for Oak & Ember’s cuisine. “Modern American/Italian/Appalachian. That’s a mouthful. People can grab a sandwich or salad out of our market if they don’t have time to dine with us or if they heading to a winery.”
A quiet soft opening for Oak & Ember is scheduled to start this Friday, January 2 followed by the official opening planned for Wednesday, January 7.

The tasting menu for the soft opening includes Spicy Nduja Mussels, a Gnocchi Bolognese, a Dry Aged Ribeye, and an Old Fashioned Bread Pudding.
You can see the full menu below.

Meanwhile, the market side of Oak & Ember will local products such as honey, tallow, hot sauces, mustards, dry rubs, and more.
The tasting room and markets hours will be 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
