This belongs in the circlejerk sub.

    -Moka is not espresso
-Moka is not even the easiest method to make coffee..

  2. Outrageous_War4610

Yes to the spirit of this post, no to the mokapot

  3. RaZoR333

I am back to instant coffee with “cappuccino” flavor.

  4. Rarely Seen this meme being used so wrong. 🙂

  5. same thing for every hobby lmao, after a while you’ll enjoy simplicity again rather than wanting to own the best of best

Id say making drip coffee is just so much better than mokapot. Higher chance of easily burning your coffee doesn’t seem appealing to me if it isnt even going to be espresso moka pots a old relic from the times we used to dark roast our beans but now we know better. but then again I’m no super genius so I wouldn’t know.

Anyone near Central Illinois. Actually trying to figure out what a real esspresso tastes like. Been 2 years with the Breville Bambino plus and I feel like I have not dialed in a great cup yet. They are good but not great.

    Yes I just did that

Tho I kept the baratza for use with moka pot.

Just time spent with brew is less, I love the simplicity. And I have different sized ones, can coffee a crew if needed. My espresso was better but simply put, it’s a whole ass thing, aside from the strength of it being potentially unwise.

    Moka pot to moka pot

  9. moka is shit. in my expirience people start with moka or french, then fency espresso machines, and v60 at the end.

  10. My go-to when I don’t want to think or try too hard is an Aeropress. Hard to screw that up.

It’s actually not easy to get good coffee out of a moka pot.

Funny but the correct one should be just get a cheap real espresso maker, e.g. de longhi stilosa, with a cheap electric grinder, e.g. batarza encore esp and then buy good coffee. You’ll make better coffee than in most stores anyway. (cheap compared to how expensive this can get)

Also more convenient than moka and you can also steam milk.

Why are people here so smug about putting in the lowest amount of effort into their espresso as possible? I don’t have a 20 step ritual in the morning like some people but I can also understand that those people enjoy the process just as much as the finished product. This hobby is different for everyone

  14. Better meme would be superautomatic, superautomatic, superautomatic.

  15. TacetAbbadon

That is quite possibly the most wrong version of this meme I’ve ever seen.

If anything it’s pour overs that would appear on both sides of the spectrum.

Serious discussion: a moka pot is one of the few tools I have encountered that I call a Perfect Object.

    1. It is beautiful.

    2. It comes to pieces in a satisfying way.

    3. It is fun to use

    4. It pours perfectly.

    5. The coffee it makes is consistent and unique.

I love my fancy espresso setup. My coffee preference is very light roasts that need attention to detail, and new coffee for every bag. But I return to the moka pot from time to time because it is a joy to use and I like the unique coffee it produces.
