These are on of the brands that are widely available in Canada. I’ve never seen King Oscar’s here. Like King Oscar these are:
– Lightly smoked brislings
– Neatly braided in the can
– “Product of Poland”
– Seem to come in the same tins
– Have the KO-style wrapper
They seem to be made in the same cannery as KOs. Would they be the same fish? The same oil? Is it the same product with a different branding for a different market?

King Oscar products are available at The Big Carrot on Danforth in case you are in Toronto.
Huh. Interesting. Always felt left out with no King Oscar but if this is true I guess perfect! I always buy Clover Leaf smoked oysters. So good.
i have seen king oscar at metro(sobeys) but i prefer clover leaf in general.
They appear to actually be Brunswick sardines after a VERY limited search. Maybe try and compare those?

~~I believe Clover Leaf is actually owned by Bumble bee, it’s one of their Canadian brands.~~ Not sure about where it’s canned, but the King Oscar brand is owned by a different company so my initial assumption is that they would not be the same sardines/oil
[I guess it’s a little ambiguous who actually owns them lol, but it’s definitely not King Oscar](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Clover_Leaf_Seafoods&wprov=rarw1)
>Clover Leaf Seafoods was formerly owned by Canadian Connors Brothers Limited when merged with American counterpart brand Bumble Bee Seafoods in 2003, it was then sold to American equity firm Centre Partners (based in Los Angeles) in 2005, then sold to Lion Capital (based in London) in 2010. In 2020, FCF Co, Ltd. (FCF), a privately held Taiwanese seafood conglomerate and an industry leader in sustainability and traceability, purchased Bumble Bee to become one of the world’s largest seafood companies.
I love my deens with tiger sauce, yum!
Clover leaf med sardines slap and their plain olive oil ones are good too! I live in Canada as well and it’s either Brunswick smoked or spring water (add my own olive oil, since their oil packed is soya oil). The variability of Brunswick is annoying though, Clover leaf is consistent.
Yum. Huge fan of the bristling sardines
Love that tigers sauce! Thanks for reminding me to get a new bottle.
These look REALLY good!
Of course I’m out of sardines and now I have an intense craving to eat a tin, unfortunately can’t get this brand where I live, but guess I gotta get myself to the store or I won’t be able to think all day.
Unfortunately They add some crap that king Oscar is not tainted with.
