It is chock full of a wide variety of provincial dishes from the very simple dishes to culinary challenges. Published in 1969, my significant bother has own the book since about then. I am now just starting to work my way through the recipes.

According to Amazon reviews the text inside is almost unreadable because it is printed with red ink on “rustic” looking brown paper.
I have an original copy of this I picked up at goodwill or something. No photos but some illustrations.
I love the post, but I love the “significant bother” typo even more.
Or is it?
This looks interesting. I confused it with the book titled: The Folk Art of Japanese Country Cooking. I found this book at a library sale over 20 years ago and changed my life and opened up a whole new world for me!
I’m curious how similar this book is!

So you can see what it looks like
Great book! Makes me wish I could have experienced the SF restaurant it comes from. I have a few cookbooks from the same publisher, Nitty Gritty Productions. They’re all pretty interesting and share the same horizontal paperback size & format.
