Really been enjoying tinned fish and sardines for the past couple of years, albeit searched for more interesting variety this last year.
I absolutely realize the pictured sardines are obviously not tinned, but i saw/noticed these for the first time and will grab a pack this week and see how to prepare it. Or should i avoid these?
As an aside, i saw sesame street recently showcased a sardine pie made by oscar the grouch in a forks out mystery w/ beignet blanc. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gJxzhUAGBDw

Lidl Is not my favorite but at times might have good stuff.
Nothing like a grilled sardine from a Portuguese feast.
Head and gut them. Pan fry with butter. Salt pepper and lemon.
I did them on a rack in a convection oven. Basically the same as air frying. I thought they were delicious but my wife was not a fan
Grill with guts and all, rubbed with seasalt dill and garlic.
Eat with hands, first the back, then the fillets.
They were great on the grill with salt.
Dude, that ain’t fish. That’s bait. Seriously though, fatty fish like sardines don’t freeze worth a darn.
Real sardines are so much better than canned. Grill or broil to get a little char, drizzle some lemon and evoo on it. Parsley if you’re fancy.
Or salt them liberally for a few hours to a day and do the same for a firmer texture. It’s already great served with some grated radish Japanese style.
Save the head and bones and nuke them in the microwave for a tasty snack
