Hoping this is just crystallised sugar but I am no expert. They do have a slight alcoholic smell, google tells me an alcoholic smell is bad but honestly they had these on the first day of opening…

If its date , then they are safe to eat. Also check the best before date also

Everyone is saying safe, but alcohol smell means decomposition.
I wouldn’t if I smelled alcohol. I made that mistake once before with Aldi stollen bites and after eating 2 or 3, I saw a huge amount of mold in the middle of the box.

They look like dates (the fruit), if it is, it’s perfectly safe.
