Hi all, what’s this I pulled out of the sardine? It kinda looks like lungs, which I know is not the case here lol

    Could it be roe sacks?

If standard cleaned sardine squick you out, have you tried boneless and skinless sardines?

the bones are the best part!

but I do sometimes scrape out the internal organs, they can be a bit bitter or funky. try different brands or fillets.

I think those might be immature roe sacs, so no eggs really

Fun fact: On average, a healthy human digestive system likely kills between 1 million and 10 million potential pathogens every hour.

Looks fine to me. Its canned and preserved it wont hurt ya no matter what part of fish is in that can

    As Motörhead would say..

Come on baby, eat the fish! Don’t look inside that son of a bitch!

it’s the swim bladder. it’s totally fine to eat. kinda tastes like liver IMO. It helps them with buoyancy, you can google ‘swim bladder’ if you wanna learn more.

If looks smooth and is almost like a pâté consistency when smooshed then it’s likely the gonads and if it’s breaks up into grainy bits then it’s the roe sack.

That sardine was in the process of evolving into a land creature!

Think of the trouble you saved all of us by eating it!

Imagine having to go to war with the new sardine invaders as land animals

Just smart enough to make bombs and mech suits! 🐟 🤖👾👾💕

To many Asians, these are the best part of the fish. You lucky person!!

You have probably eaten it before, just in the fish

That spine got my mouth watering.

    Anyone else love the spines?

Why are you dissecting the sardine? That’s not in the rules.

  13. Maybe a mutant with lungs – you interrupted evolution

The amount of people on here dissecting their tinned fish is kinda amazing.

On the one hand, I sort of get it… But, it’s mass caught animals in a tin, no one has checked every fish for abnormalities, and they won’t.

Suffice to say, even if it looks weird, or you don’t know what it is… If you don’t want to eat it, don’t… Other than that, don’t look this closely and just /r/EatItYouFuckingCoward

I can hands down say it isn’t lungs.

Not saying you couldn’t find this in ANY brand tin, but could I ask which brand tin this came out of?
