Surprised to see an Eagle One. Serious bit of kit for a McDonald's. I've seen Marzocco & Rancilio machines before at airport McCafes but this is a first.

Espresso was slightly over extracted, their workflow is obviously optimised for speed though – there was 1 guy manning it. Taste was fine, drinkable, miles better than your average Starbucks or coffee bean but then that's not really a high bar. Clearly bean selection is aiming for inoffensive middle of the road and succeeds
Americano was fine, pleasant enough although nothing to write home about.

Double espresso was 17 AED or about USD 4.65. americano was about 20 or 21 AED but I can't remember.

I think I saw similar equipment at the Palma airport, it was a brand new location in a new wing of the airport.

Even with all that equipment I would never trust McDonald’s to make a decent espresso. I’ve only ever had really shitty coffee from McCafes.

I wouldn’t go there any more than I would Starbucks. The moment I see syrup anywhere, that’s it.

And the Mythos grinders 😍 Only piece of gear I regret switching

That’s the setup in most European McCafe

The McDs in Bad Ischl has one of these, it was not bad surprisingly!

Seeing all of that yellow made me first think that Loblaws (Canadian grocery chain) had opened a espresso bar. If your Canadian you will understand.
