The team behind the family-owned Santa Lucia restaurant chain has announced they are set to expand yet again with an exciting new opening.

Sofia by Santa Lucia, which will be located in the “heart of Hamilton”, is set to bring the “soul of Italy to South Lanarkshire”, with a brand-new authentic Italian eatery being confirmed for the town’s Almada Street.

Set to open on August 28, Sofia will offer everything from handmade pasta and wood-fired Neapolitan pizza to classic dishes and fine Italian wines.

It will join the firm’s other spots in the Merchant City and West End.

The new restaurant will be led by head chef Michele and executive manager Giuseppe.

Following the announcement, the head and executive chef, Michele, said: “Sofia is more than just a restaurant, it’s a tribute to the warm hospitality and timeless recipes found in the kitchens of Naples, Rome, and beyond.”

Meanwhile, the general manager, Giuseppe, added: “We wanted to create a welcoming space, where locals in and around Hamilton can enjoy an authentic taste of Italy right on their doorstep.”

To celebrate the launch, the team will be offering the first 50 customers A FREE MEAL on a first come first serve basis on August 28, and will be holding a promotion of 50 per cent off all dishes from August 28 until September 7.
