Freezer burned food is safe to eat, you could have meat frozen for a decade and as long as its never unthawed in there it would still be safe to eat.
Would it taste good? Probably not. I’ve had some funky tasting sausages the nearly reached the decade age, but they were safe to eat. Just use lots of seasoning to mask the taste and it’s fine. Honestly, when I put it into a curry it was just like regular curry.

This is the thing to do with freezer burned meat. Still edible, just tastes less-good. Throw it in something with a ton of flavor and it’s good to go.
