While popular Milton brewery, Beardless Brewhaus closed its Pace location over the summer, a new Mediterranean tapas bar is set to take its place soon at 5642 Woodbine Road.
Beardless Brewhaus set out to be a gathering place for the Five Points Pace community, with a second Santa Rosa County location replacing 5 Flags Brewing Co. and serving as a sister to Beardless’ Milton flagship location.
“Two years ago, an opportunity to grow into the Pace community presented itself to a small-town, locally owned and operated brewery. Our goal was simple: to be the neighborhood third space for the community of Pace, using locally made beer as a way to bring our neighbors together,” Beardless Brewhaus shared in an August closing statement. “Now, nearly two years later, the time has come for us to let someone else try to achieve that goal. After much thought and with heavy hearts, we’ve made the decision to close Beardless Brewhaus – Pace.”
Now, a new restaurant is ready to reopen its doors, inviting the community back in for Mediterranean-inspired tapas.
The new restaurant, Bar-Celona Tapas Bar and Restaurant, is transforming the former brewery into a bright and colorful culinary space with rust-orange booths in the dining room, patterned mosaic tiles on the walls and a fun selection of tapas on the menu.
Bar-Celona is working on the “final touches” before opening up their doors, as well as waiting on some permits to be approved. An opening date is still to be determined.
“We’re putting the final touches on some remodeling to create a fun, cozy atmosphere where you can truly experience the flavors and spirit of Spain — right here in Pace!” Bar-Celona shared in a social media statement on Oct. 28. “The good news? We’ll be opening this December — just in time for the holidays! Come celebrate the season with us, share tapas, raise a glass, and enjoy a little piece of Spain with your friends and family. We can’t wait to welcome you all soon — from our family to yours, ¡gracias!”
Although the restaurant didn’t quite make its goal of a December opening, it issued a Facebook statement Dec. 29 stating it would have an official opening date soon.
“We’re so close we can taste it — we’re just taking a little extra time to make sure everything is perfect for our guests,” the post said.
The style of Bar-Celona will be “where Spanish flavors meet fun vibes,” according to Bar-Celona’s social media page.
Details are in the works, so follow Bar-Celona Tapas Bar and Restaurant on social media for more information related to Bar-Celona’s opening day and menu.
