Did anyone have the same experience with Omaha Steaks?

Some are telling me they did and it was due to a change packaging.

I’m asking because this is the first year we have received a gift package without the burgers.

The giver is a brother whom sent 6 packages to his siblings and himself. All were different addresses in 3 different states and included filet, chicken breast, whipped potato, apple tarts & hot dogs.

The order was paid in full upfront. All were supposed to include 8 burgers. They were missing on all shipments. There was no note, no follow up from Omaha Steaks. We found out because the one that ordered checked with all others to verify after he received his delivery minus the burgers.

He reported this to the company. We received our original delivery on 12/15. The burgers arrived today, 01/05. The burgers were completely defrosted. They were in a foil lined boxed with 2 empty plastic bags that were labeled “dry ice”. I placed a thermometer between the packages and it registered 43 degrees.

Keep these around so you can have one about 2 days before you want to get out of work

You dont need to mail order beef. Go give your local butcher the same type of business and be fresh. All these places are scams

Omaha steaks is bad. But is your thermometer calibrated? Surface temp isnt an accurate measurement. And even so I wouldn’t be concerned about 3 degrees.it would be like setting your fridge at the 2 setting.

Anything I can see at over 42° is a no no.

If it’s from the farm, of course it’s still cooling.

Shipped meat, not completely frozen with no temp abuse indications, YIKES

Last time was the last time. Steaks were tough.

  7. Yeah I’m in Omaha and the only ones who get Omaha steaks here are Rich people buying the top tier stuff out of convenience. The local Walmarts have better beef than Omaha steaks.

Did you ask them before posting this?

If they don’t get back quickly you should dispute the charge with the creditor. You did not order a good hazard.

My grandmother likes to buy Omaha Steaks for various gift occaisions. Last summer she had a nice combo pack of steak sent out to me in TX while my parents were visiting to help me recover from a surgery. It arrived at like 80* + inside. My dad called and it was a huge pain to get Omaha to do something about it, but finally they sent another one out. 2 days alter it showed up… 65* inside…. It was somehow ever harder to get another replacement pack sent out. That one took like 4 days to show up, but it was at least at a safe temp on arrival.

Grandma is old and we didn;t want to bother her with any of this, so we didn;t say anything to her. Otherwise we’d never be buying from OS again.

I have never had a good experience with Omaha steaks. Either it has freezer burn or is raw at delivery. Hard pass for me. I’s amazed they’re still in business after selling this slop for years.

I’ve never had mail order meat, it seems sketchy.
