Toronto's first Yokohama Ikei-style ramen ~ fr what i understand, it's a creamy, rich style of ramen that combines pork bones and shoyu, w chicken oil on top and a side of rice. How u eat the rice is up to u (u can either scoop some of the soup/oil and mix side condiments in it, or put it in directly in the soup and enjoy it as a sort of porridge)
They had chili oil, garlic paste, and pickled cucumbers on the side. They also let u customize salt level, chicken oil level, and nood firmness.
They had their grand opening this wkend where all ramen was 50% off, waited almost an hr in cold to be seated and got the max for $10 (reg price $20), which consists of 3pcs chashu, 6pcs nori, 1 quail egg, 1 poached egg, and some spinach (they quantify how much of each ingredient is inc in every dish, which is super helpful in deciding what to get)
Wasn't the most flavourful (perhaps bc I got light salt and light chicken oil), but i liked customizing it w the condiments and eating rice w it made it a more sustenable meal as well
Apparently this is a popular chain w almost 1k locations worldwide. Staff was v kind and all Japanese
