Thank you for your picture post to r/sousvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.
If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.
Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.
Thank you!!

First time trying this out & it came out so good. Tasted super similar to the gyro shop near me.

First time trying this out & it came out so good. Tasted super similar to the gyro shop near me.
I used the following:
* 1.25 lbs ground bison (*just the red meat I normally buy*)
* 0.5 lbs ground beef 90%
* 0.5 lbs ground lamb
* 1/2 onion finely diced & pressed to get all liquid out
* 3-4 garlic cloves minced
* 3 teaspoons salt
* 3 teaspoons paprika
* 2 teaspoons pepper
* 2 teaspoons oregano
* 2 teaspoons msg
* 1 teaspoon thyme
* 1 teaspoon rosemary
* 1 teaspoon cumin
* 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
* 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
* 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
* 0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Just combine the seasonings, onion, & garlic in stand mixer. Add meats & mix for 1 minute
Vacuum seal & let chill in fridge at least 2 hours to let it flavor up good
Sous vide 153 for 3 hours
Dry, slice, & sear
it’s pronounced g-y-r-o
That looks fantastic. And thanks for the recipe
Looks really good.
think i’m gonna give this a whirl OP
The adds on Imgur are wild. LOL
I’m not sure what sous vide is bringing to the party here. Much less fuss to just do it in a loaf pan and bake it.
