But I'd be open for tips on how to make them prettier somehow?

If you are looking for assistance with a specific result or bake, you may need to provide a recipe in order to receive advice. This community may not be able to help you without details from your recipe (ingredients, techniques, baking times and temps).

You forgot to post a pic of the ugly ones cuz these look yum-yum!!

  3. sombrista

Do you know what the word “ugly” means? 😭😭Those look delicious!

How dare you insult those beautiful babies? Apologize NOW or give them to me.

  5. SesquipedalianCookie

I’ll eat them for you to spare you the horrible sight!

They are roughly the same size, nicely browned. Not ugly at all. And powdered sugar always magically improves the look of something anyway but these would be nice even without.

If those are ugly my baking is hideous. These look delicious

How do *you* think they can be improved?

The instagramification of baking needs to stop. Just because you don’t look like a model doesn’t mean you’re ugly and the same goes for baked goods.

They look great and delightfully homemade. Hmmm…. I think you’re just fishing for compliments! 🤔

Takes me back to MySpace days… “I’m so ugly, here’s a pic. I’ll probably delete it later.”

I mean are you fishing for compliments here? Ugly? They’re gorgeous! Well done!

They look fine, taste is more important,  imo of course.  I love pears!

Seriously, don’t compare them to color-corrected photos taken with professional cameras and lighting! These look great, and I’d eat one in a heartbeat.

I see you also went to the school of Delicious not Fancy.

When it comes down to it, flavor is what real people want. Looks yummy!

  17. Wow, they look pretty awesome to me. And I bake lots ( amateur home baking) and they look delicious 🤤

I think you know they look nice but are afraid to just post without knocking yourself because people are nicer when they think you aren’t showing off. Have confidence, you know they are good. Based on your post history you are a good baker.

Those look gorgeous and delicious. You’re a great chef.

  20. I’d definitely eat them and probably love them! I myself am also an amateur baker who makes yummy things but struggles with any decorating though. Still looks delicious.

These are so damn cute!!! Not ugly AT ALL! Pinterest/instagram pastries are perfected, and only the pretty and perfect ones get photographed and displayed for the world, but i promise you when those people bake casually, they look just like this! Plus i think imperfect baked goods are better because its proof they are home made, and not made in batches of 200.

We have vastly different definitions of ugly.

  23. THEY ARE NOT UGLY!!!

I cannot eat pears but would risk it for the biscuit as my kids say
