So, it's still alive but growing stems on top of already established steams? But the top part isn't growing back. At this point, I think I'm just keeping it around to see what will happen next.

Nice! That’s exactly what we’re hoping to see. One or both of those suckers will start growing thicker and faster very soon. Looks like you took perfect care of the plant while it was in its most vulnerable state. 😀👍
