Cuisine: American / Mediterranean
Prep Time: 7 minutes
Cook Time: 13 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/2 cup dry white wine 2 tablespoons butter 3 cloves garlic, grated 2 tablespoons fresh herbs, such as parsley, basil and/or dill, chopped 1 tablespoon lemon juice, or more to taste
Recipe Notes
If you don’t have dry white wine on hand, you can substitute very diluted white wine vinegar.
Dried herbs can be used instead of fresh, but just be sure to use less.

Add more salt and pepper, if desired, to taste.
Here’s how to make it:
Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper.

Add oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 8 or 9 minutes. Transfer chicken pieces to a plate.

Do not wash the pan. Add wine, butter and garlic to the drippings and browned bits and cook until the liquid is reduced by about half, 2 to 3 minutes.

Return the chicken to the pan and toss to coat well in the butter garlic sauce.

Remove from heat and stir in fresh herbs and lemon juice.

Serve over mashed potatoes or rice, or all on its own.
