Where does a fella find weber fire starter cubes around the central US? I ordered these from Amazon but it took like 2 months to get here

I’m not in the central US, but I get them at Ace Hardware.

HEB sometimes has something like these. Maybe check out Home Depot?

I like the cubes because they produce no ash at all… unlike newspaper or whatever which produces a ton of ash. However, unless you can find them at a steep discount, they are expensive for what they are. (Also, I’ve never needed more than a single wax cube, even for a mass of wet twigs and live brush I lit for my firepit.)

Theres a million different starters you can use. Any paper bag or paper good can work. Butcher paper from wrapping brisket and ribs work great if you use them fast enough. If not there are tumble weeds and the little cups and all sorts of commercial items and also propane powered grill guns. Use what you have or what is easily available. If these things take 2 months to ship just pick something else, just about anything works.

Home depot, ace, Costco, and wallmart are all Weber retailers. I work at Weber distribution

Balled up paper towel soaked in used cooking oil works pretty well and doesn’t make too much ash.

I bought these for my chimney starter and I’m not a fan for that use. They produce heat in a concentrated area and it takes longer for the whole chimney to light.

They’re great for fireplace or fire pit though.

Went back to paper bags for the chimney starter though.

Paper towel dipped in some cooking oil. Just one half sheet will do. Not soaked in oil. But the oil will make it burn much longer and hotter

Purists will argue using the paper, but it will.be long gone once you have situated your hot coals. They will literally have the exact same effect as the starters.

Pro tip- used cooking oil works great, and doesn’t cost you anything more!
