Tertiary aromas, decent amount of fruit for a 25 year-old wine, elegant with no significant tannins, super long finish. A truly pleasurable wine.
OK, my obligation is done. I don’t do well describing wine but I know it when I smell and taste it. This was totally worth a few months of waiting. My second purchase from Last Bottle. I should have bought a case or two for $39 per. I don’t have the privilege of regularly tasting wines of this age but this, for the money is the best I’ve tasted. The punt of the bottle, the grape skin and crystals on the cork and the initial smell made me happy I ordered two bottles and sad I didn’t buy 2 cases. Not sure if this is $300 I’ve had worse at near this price. Thanks to all the folks here who rep Last Bottle.

This is a jewel of the LB portfolio.
And “knowing it when you see it” is good enough to enjoy!
Y’all should try their estate wines. Very good and approachable much earlier than the Elivette.
Just got 2004’s today as well as the 2013’s. Excited to try them!
Amazing! Can’t wait to try mine.
People love to hate Last Bottle in this group. But even if only 1 in 10 of their offerings is an actual deal, it’s totally worth it. You won’t find these bargains elsewhere.
So much of this on here recently
This sub is so focused on Elivette.
Where on earth are you seeing this for $300?! I’m finding this vintage and anything around that age for closer to $100 on WinSearcher.
Still an excellent buy at $39, of course, but the “$300” comment jumped out at me.
I will post this any time I can.
That LB sale of Elivettes was a unicorn. Not sure next time we see something of that quality and sale at those prices.
Just cracked open a bottle of 2004 on Wednesday. Had some nice wine diamonds on the cork. It did take about 2 hours for it to fully decant and open up, was a little surprised it took that long but was still a delightful wine. Wish I got in on some of the 2007 a few days ago.
You should try WineBid, I just started using it and have been able to find awesome older bottles (some great / some bad) but all for a bargain
At what point do we cool it with the Elivette posts?
I’ve got the 2000, 04, & 06 coming any day now… so excited
I can’t wait for mine!
The 04 is hitting hard right now
I’ve bought a lot of the Elivette, and I also have been drinking tons of other Napa and Bordeaux in the $30-50 range and really nothing is close. Genuinely the value proposition can’t be beat.
