As happy hours around the country continue to gain popularity, for more than a month, The Dispatch has been passing along noteworthy happy hour recommendations. Last week, we went with Condado Tacos, a popular Mexican restaurant with a long list of discounted drinks.

This week’s recommendation has food and drinks on its discounted menu and is a family-owned restaurant in Upper Arlington. Nicola Restaurant & Bar located at 4740 Reed Road is a must-visit spot with a long discount appetizer menu, and wine and cocktails discounted as well.

Nicola Restaurant & Bar
Where: 4740 Reed Road, Columbus (Upper Arlington).
When: 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the bar and bar seats only.
Menu: The happy hour menu for Nicola is a long one, but it’s hard to pass on the 11 appetizers it features. Nicola sells appetizers for $8 each, which includes piadina, gnocchi, bruschetta, pasta and more. Also on the food menu is the chef’s rosemary ciabatta bread for $6.
As for the drinks, cocktails are $7. You can choose from a list of seven discounted cocktails including the pink margarita, a berry mojito and more.
It wouldn’t be an Italian restaurant without wine. The menu offers $6 wine including pino noir, chianti and more.
