Taralli are traditional Italian snacks, crisp and lightly savory, made with simple pantry ingredients. In our family we always made them oval shaped, the way my nonnas did. They always had a batch ready for us to take home, and growing up they were never missing from the table alongside a cup of espresso. Simple, comforting, and part of everyday life in the kitchen.

Love these. Grandma and mom made them flavored with black pepper. Always part of an antipasto on a holiday table.

Tarelli is my go-to snack! No one makes them better than nonnas. 😀

Amazing, looks delizioso. Can’t wait for the recipe.
My nonna did something similar but I didn’t get the recipe. Memories.

    Great work!

Same in my family. When I grew up and moved away, my father would send me a box to make sure I had my supply. Ours were always made with anise seeds.

  5. Nom nom nom. Weirdly, I was introduced to these at a microbrewery in Vancouver, Canada (the owners had Italian heritage). Not sure how traditional this is, but they pair well with beer. Would love to try homemade ones someday.
