Leading UK importer of Greek and Cypriot wines, Maltby & Greek, have introduced Three Bowls, a new wine range developed in-house through a collaboration with a group of Greek winemakers.
The collection offers modern expressions of indigenous Greek varieties which focus on purity, balance and varietal character, aiming to be inviting to those drinkers who are curious about wines from the country.
The launch range includes three wines: a 2025 Assyrtiko (PGI Peloponnese) – described as “precise” and “citrus-led”, a 2024 Rosé Xinomavro-Assyrtiko (Wine of Greece) – characteristed as having “a forest-fruit character and a dry, refreshing finish”, and a Xinomarvro 2023 (PDO Naoussa), detailed as having “gentle spice, structure and purity”.
Commenting on the launch, Yannos Hadjiioannou, co-founder of Maltby & Greek, said: “Three Bowls reflects what makes Greek wine so exciting right now.
“Our indigenous grapes and dramatic landscapes offer incredible character, and this new range brings that to life in a fresh, premium yet affordable way. It’s designed to give more people a confident way into Greek wine – these are wines with identity, precision and real drinkability.”
Stef Kokotos, fellow co-founder of Maltby & Greek, added: “We created Three Bowls to show Greek wine in a well-presented, contemporary way.
“The focus is on quality and balance, with an approachable profile, developed in collaboration with a new generation of Greek winemakers, and priced to allow more people to engage with Greek wine.”
The name of the range – ‘Three Bowls’ – is inspired by a line from ancient Greek poet Eubulus, who wrote that wine should be enjoyed across three bowls: “one to health, one to love and pleasure, and one to sleep.”
Maltby & Greek was founded by Hadjiioannou and Kokotos with a commitment to work directly with small (often family-run) producers across Greece. The business aims to champion food and wine that is produced with skill and respect for tradition, while keeping sustainability at the heart of its ethos.
The Three Bowls range will be available to taste for the first time at the Maltby & Greek Annual Portfolio tasting, taking place on 19 January at Shoreditch Arts Club, London.
