Mediterranean restaurant chain CAVA could open its first Wisconsin location in Greenfield at the 84South shopping center.

CAVA is planned to occupy a space formerly home to MOD Pizza, which closed less than 12 months ago, according to city documents.

Its menu features a variety of build-your-own salads, grain bowls and pita wraps with inclusions like lamb, steak, harissa, hummus and sweet potato.

Plans to open CAVA will be brought in front of Greenfield’s Plan Commission on Tuesday evening. If approved, its hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. every day. The restaurant will hire two to five full-time employees and 10 to 12 part-time employees, according to city documents.

The Washington D.C.-based fast casual chain has gained online popularity in recent months. It has over 400 locations across 28 states nationwide, the closest of which are in Illinois.

84South, developed by Milwaukee-based Cobalt Partners, is located along I-894 between Layton Avenue and South 84th and South 92nd streets. Major retail tenants include Kohl’s, Total Wine & More, Fresh Thyme Market and Ulta Beauty. In addition to retail buildings, it also includes an Aurora Health Care outpatient surgery center; the 268-unit Forte at 84South apartment complex; and a Cooper’s Hawk and Chipotle restaurant.
