I never skip my morning cup of coffee. Typically, I make it in my beloved Keurig, complete with my favorite syrup. But when I can’t be bothered, I’m happy to swing by Dunkin’ and grab an iced latte with one of the brand’s delicious flavor swirls.

Now, I can enjoy one of those flavor swirls in a new way, thanks to a collab between Kahlúa and Dunkin’: Everybody say hi to the Caramel Swirl Cream Liqueur. It’s sweet and creamy, and tastes just like my favorite iced latte — and my husband’s mom gave us the most genius (and unexpected!) way to enjoy it.

What You Should Know About the Kahlúa Dunkin’ Caramel Swirl Cream Liqueur

Despite the fact that it was introduced in August, I only just saw a commercial for the Kahlúa Dunkin’ Caramel Swirl Cream Liqueur a couple weeks ago. Naturally, I raced out to grab a bottle.

No big deal or anything, but this collab is kind of major for both Kahlúa and Dunkin’. Not only is it the first time Dunkin has done a cream liqueur (so fun!), but it’s also now a part of Kahlúa’s permanent lineup. That’s right: You can enjoy this all year round!

The Caramel Swirl flavor in this liqueur draws upon Dunkin’s super popular in-store flavor swirl (I mean, what’s not to love about caramel-flavored coffee?). Plus, it’s got rum, Arabica coffee, and, of course, cream.

I found a 750-milliliter bottle at my local grocery store for $28, but you can save a little coin when you order it from Total Wine, where it’s just $21.

My Honest Review of the Kahlúa Dunkin’ Caramel Swirl Cream Liqueur

When we spotted this liqueur in the store, my husband asked how I was planning to use it. My answer: straight, over ice. But he had a different suggestion, based on what his mom likes to do with Kahlúa’s Coffee Liqueur: Why not mix it with seltzer? This would give it the vibe of an Italian-American espresso soda his family loves, only creamier.

I was skeptical, but I tried it — and it’s now my favorite way to drink this liqueur. I just add an ounce of the Kahlúa Dunkin’ Caramel Swirl Cream Liqueur to a glass and top it the rest of the way with plain seltzer (we use the Polar brand). That’s literally all it takes to make a fun little cocktail I can indulge in after dinner or with a weekend brunch.

The liqueur itself is so delicious with buttery, sweet notes of caramel and robust coffee. I found it a little strong to drink neat (it has an ABV of 16%), so with seltzer it was perfect. Plus, the seltzer helps balance out the sweetness and makes it a little more effervescent. It’s truly a perfect two-ingredient drink. Though I wouldn’t say no to a splash of it in hot chocolate either.
