Air Fryer Tomato Soup
Ingredients:
* 3 1/2 pounds tomatoes
* 2 tsp. Salt
* 1 tsp. Dried Basil
* 1/4-1/2 c. Olive oil
* 6 cloves of garlic, peeled
* 1 cup red onion, chopped
* Pinch of red pepper flakes
* Pinch of black pepper
* 1/4 cup heavy cream
* Fresh Basil, for garnish
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in an Air Fryer and mix with hands to make sure the tomatoes are coated.
2. Set Air Fryer to 400 degrees and cook for 20 minutes
3. Transfer to a blender and blend until smooth. Scrape down the sides and add heavy cream. Blend one more time.
4. Pour into soup bowls and garnish with fresh basil.
5. Yum!

Why would you need an air fryer? Put the tomatoes in a Dutch oven with some water, and after 20 minutes, you'll have the same result.
So u don't remove the tomato skins??

I have a recipe that is very similar to yours, but i put coconut milk in it (for lactose free). I also just got an air fryer so I will try it that way too.
I liked to add butter milk and garlic to my canned tomato soup.

This is similar to my homemade tomato mushroom soup. However, I add celery, yellow onion, and a bit more spice. Last 5 minutes I put the mushrooms into the air fryer. I use my immersion blender then I add a can of diced tomatoes, cream. Stir, pour in a pot, and simmer. Serve with grilled cheese. Delish

I feel like it would need to be strained through cheese cloth or fine mesh. Do the seeds and tomato cores actually blend up?

I am curious about something. I see that you're using a Vitamix blender. Why do you go through two steps to make that soup when the vitamin mix will make soup out of it it has a soup function it makes hot soup you just put all the ingredients in just like you did. You can add the cream later but it does make hot soup.
Great idea nice and simple
