Fazoli’s Restaurant in Anderson opens

Fazoli’s is coming to Tallahassee soon. And by soon, we mean mark your calendars for May 5.

Franchise owner Steve Wilkens posted on Facebook Jan. 14: “Thank you for being patient as we bring back the breadsticks.”

The new store is under construction at the Mahan Village Shopping Plaza, 3122 Mahan Drive.

Wilkens says the new building will have an outside patio and the first double drive-thru in the franchise.

They may need it after how long Tallahassee’s foodies have been waiting for the Italian-American food chain’s arrival.

The rumors of a new Fazoli’s started in 2022. For almost two years now, Wilkens has put out fires that follow any time the word “Fazoli’s” is posted in a social media group.

The only things people had been holding onto for the last three years are the promises of Wilkens, a yellow “coming soon” sign and the memories of the Fazoli’s where they once indulged.

Construction began Oct. 13, with the help of Tip Top Construction, which has handled projects for other local restaurants, including Culver’s on Apalachee Parkway, as well as Siam Bistro on Bannerman Boulevard and Piesanos Pizza on North Blair Stone Road.
