I bought a tiny (supposedly poblano) plant with a couple leaves on it, it grew and has dozens of peppers on it. However, they are less than half the size of the ones I find at the grocery, even turning from dark green to red before nearing that size. They are basically the size of my thumb. I grilled them and removed the skin, and it tasted sweet and mildly spicy. Just curious, these are the first peppers I have grown!

Forgot to mention, I am in southern California. They grew several months in full sun, and after an animal ate every single pepper (20+) within two days I moved it to a fenced-in, 50% shade area so that may have affected the size.

These look the jalepenos tbh poblanos are usually a different shape and a very dark green.

Jalapenos don’t typically get to full red without some checking. These look closer to Fresnos to me.

No, but it looks spot on for jalapeños, nice pulse control to let them ripen, you will taste the difference.

  5. Poblanos are much larger, darker green, and have a flatter wider top that tapers down to a point instead of bulging out slightly.

Red jalapeeners are some of the tastiest peppers imo.
