Lovely tin of mackerel. Packed in white wine with light seasoning. The liquid was acidic and bright – No added oil. Lightly salted. One slice each of carrot, pickle, red pepper, and lemon. Ate with some toasted and salty buttered baguette to help cut the acidity. Smelled slightly on the fishy side, but it didn’t taste strongly of fish – the wine took center stage. Would try on a green salad next time.

Oh yum! I’ve been wanting to try this can. I bet the wine would make a great dressing if mixed with olive oil!
The broth was way too acidic for me, but the mackerel was incredibly tender. Had to add a good amount of flake salt to mine. Gonna try the mustard one next
I’ve got this tin waiting, the mustard cream sauce tin is one of my favorite makerel tins so I have high expectations! Sound like the sauce on this could be used to whip up a good vinaigrette style salad dressing?
Looks great!
I love the strong acidic flavor on this one 👌
This one and the mustard cream sauce variety are both on my list to try. With the higher acidity I might try this with some greens.
