So I was trying to decide how deep I wanted to dive into pellet grills/smokers and really didn’t wanna buy a super cheap one, but also didn’t wanna drop 1k in a rec and not be happy with the results.
So was walking through Lowe’s and found a deal on a portable pit boss pellet grills was on clearance for $169!!! Feel like I couldn’t pass it up and would let me get me feet wet with how the results are in the pellet world.
Needless to say I’m pretty impressed so far in this little thing, I’ve used it back to back nights and it’s been about 35 degrees outside and the thing has held temps pretty damn good! Food has come out as I expected, decent smoke flavor not super over powering, easy clean up, the pellet hopper being 7 pounds lasts a good amount of time.
For $169 feel like I am very very happy with the pit boss portable!

Congratulations on the buy and timing. Is that the portable model. I have a similar. Nice cut to smoke a Pichana. What are the details on pellets, rub, temp and cook time. Any after pics?
Very wise buy to start with the portable. My Camp Chef is a great addition to my offset and kettles. Just yesterday I wanted some ribs, 3 hours on the pellet cooker and done ! Great looking cook !
