Got removed from /volumeeating, not sure where to post or what to flair it as. But seems worth to post and inform others.
I would always stock up on this progresso soup at 200cal for 20g protein per can. Until yesterday when i went to eat this for lunch and noticed- its 300? I wondered if i had imagined my 200 cal cans but sure enough at home two of the same can with massively differing labels. Anyone know what to do about this, or trust, why this happened, or noticed this too?

That’s easy, one can is dented. More calories in dented cans.
Seems like they just decided to change the recipe by adding more fiber. You may have to change what soup you buy
They changed the recipe – check the ingredient statement for order of ingredients
Check the dates to see which is more recent. You can also contact the manufacturer with pictures of both. They might give you a free supply or rare coupon btw.
Id go with the higher calorie amount.
Ill check mine i just had delivered when i get home tonight and see if they match. This and the lentils are great when I dont wanna cook and its cold.
13g of fiber vs 24g of fiber is crazy work.
I’d be a one woman fart machine but I’d bet I’d stay full longer than the lower calorie one.
This was posted before and someone said they had inside info. They said the company calculated the calories wrong. I was bummed about this too.
Bro I was eating homemade chipotle every night for like four months, was a volume hack like 2 pounds of food for 500-700 calories depending on how hungry I was, but I’ve recently cut it down to like once a week every since they made the switch and it wasn’t even a conscious decision it just no longer fit into my calories. It’s just makes you realize how expensive 100 calories are to your calorie budget 😭
I’d do it even with it being 300. That’s almost an entire day’s worth of fiber (and half the sodium…). Too bad I can’t eat beans. Drat you, allergies.
310 is the updated label! Tbh I think it was always 310 and they just recalculated the calories, since the ingredients list and order is exactly the same and the only thing that changed on the label was carbs. If they really changed the recipe there would be at least a small change to the ingredients, sodium, vitamins, protein, etc.
