Just on a whim, I planted this tomato about 3 months ago. I don't know anything about tomato plants. it's a cherry tomato and I have sort of just been letting it grow. recently, somebody told me I should get a tomato cage for it. should I get a tomato cage, or is it okay to just let it grow like it is? also, the seed package said I should expect to see flowers at about 75 days. it's been about 90 and still no flowers. is that normal/okay?

A couple suggestions, one is I would maybe uplant the tomato into a bit bigger pot, secondly it would t hurt to trellis it up because more the plant would get sunlight.

You may also want to to add some natural fertilizer!

it needs to be outside & to have a larger pot to get anything beyond a handful of tomatoes.

Days to Maturity is applicable if the conditions are met, full sun 6-8 hours, optimal day/night temperatures, watering, micronutrients & fertilization.

Unless you have a south facing solarium, inside is not even close to full sun.

I would prune it back & plant it outside after last frost date. My zone that’s late March/Early April, but you have to look up yours.

Somebody might say, “yeah growlights”, but do you want to put out $50-100 for a possible, handfull of tomatoes once or twice a year?

If you’re in zone 9b or 10, you could potentially grow outdoors year round.

At first I thought it was growing in a rice cooker.

It’s trying hard but I doubt you’ll get much of a harvest if any. They need tons of direct, unfiltered sunlight & it’s even tough to duplicate that with good grow lights. They are vining plants and looks like you have a variety that’ll just keep growing. There are some that grow to a determined height and those are better for containers – but that container looks way too small
