Band bent?

Hey everyone. Got a BJ3 So I removed the lid to make it easier to move around. Was a hassle to get back on (forgot to zip tie the spring) and took like 3 people to get this on. But it seems like this is the most aligned we can get the band? I put a piece of smoker gasket in to cushion the area and not allow it to touch the porcelain. It opens and closes fine with no issues.

Did the band get bent in this process? Do I keep trying? Is this good enough or will overtime this get worse?
