Blue Point oysters are notorious for that. Some consider it a delicacy. I love oysters but the crabs freak me out. I either remove them and eat it as usual or toss the oyster if it seems dry as they are competing for nutrients and I’ve noticed they can definitely dry out the oyster.
Edit: Also damn that poor shellfish got massacred.

First time I saw one I thought it was bad and threw out the oyster. Looked it up, saw it was a delicacy, next time I saw it I ate it. And it was pretty good!!
