Cost of living pressures prompt The Dining Room, Baptist Street Rec Club, Promenade Bondi Beach to relaunch as Mediterranean diners in Sydney

Big hospitality groups are losing patience with ambitious fine diners and increasingly quickly pulling the pin on restaurants that are losing money in a retreat to more familiar cuisines that promise steadier returns.

Hunter Street Hospitality, owned by Metrics Credit Partners and behind restaurants including Rockpool Bar & Grill and Spice Temple, is closing its two-level fine diner The Dining Room in The Rocks in February, less than nine months after its much-anticipated opening.
