On a recent trip to Portugal visited Alma, Belcanto, Loco and Casa de Chá. Actually I had Antiqvvm booked for Porto (I'm sure it would have been great too) but swapped it for CCBN two days before – this turned out to be the best meal of the trip. A taxi from our hotel in Porto cost 20€, and the restaurant got us one back after our lunch.

It's hard to pick out star dishes, which is always a good sign, everything was great. We went the biggest menu 20 passes, would highly recommend it, we didn't find it too much food, about 9 passes are just one bite.

If I had to pick highlights I'd go 13 and 14. A tuna belly tartar that was also served with an oyster, and (14) hamachi, served with a jalapeño sauce.

After having possibly the weakest desserts I've ever had in a Michelin restaurant a few nights before in Belcanto (Jamón Ibérico used in both desserts) it was great to go back to some plain, classic desserts just using simple ingredients, and not trying to be too clever for its own good. They were great

Highly recommended, not just for the amazing view, but also the food is top class.
