This is immediately after drinking my grande Starbucks drink. It feels like ice takes up 80% of my drink now. Do they think they are being sneaky? It’s gotten ridiculous.

Bartender of nearly 2 decades here. That’s how you’re taught to build drinks everywhere. It isn’t new or unique to Starbucks.

Next time ask for no ice and see what the drink looks like. It’ll probably be an empty cup.

Just order no ice it’s the same thing

This is just how iced drinks are, everywhere. Cocktails, coffee, soda, whatever. If they fill the ice like ⅓ of the way your drink isn’t going to be cold enough, and it will be watered down.

If it had less ice it would be super watered down by milk. This is standard practice and about drink balance for the recipes.

I see you asked for lite ice too

i used up the last of a christmas gift card on a hot chocolate the other night and got the most disgusting drink i’ve ever had. i haven’t spent my own money there in years and i never will again

I’ve gotten drinks that I’ve finished in like two sips. It’s so insulting.

I have a friend that spends around $10 a day at this place. What a waste of money.

That’s what you get for going to Starbucks😂

What do you mean these days? People have been complaining about too much ice in their drinks for decades.

I get it like 2ce a week. I’ve never had an overly iced cup. Idk, maybe they just think I’m special.

I’m a no ice person when I oder drinks other than water

I stopped going to Sbux when I realized I could basically make similar drinks at home for a cheaper price.

Asian tea shops outdo Starbucks on any given day. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried brown sugar boba tea.

They don’t need to be sneaky, they know their customers are suckers.

My Starbucks is always perfect with the “light ice please” request.

Best thing I ever did was get coffee equipment for the home and office

I can make all the espresso related drinks. That machine has long ago paid for itself. Recently got a machine to help my elderly MIL have her morning coffee. It lets me switch between pods and freshly ground beans. Even has an iced coffee setting, I can make the wife’s iced dunkin decaf

This isn’t unique to Starbucks. I work in a place that serves coffee locally and coffee/espresso comes out ridiculously hot. If we only gave you a little ice the drink won’t be cold for long enough for you guys to even make it home with. If you want a cold drink that includes a very hot ingredient, sorry to say that you’ll need a lot of ice to cool that hot ingredient down.

Maybe stop spending your money there when you know it’s shit in a glass?

It’s always been like this. Ask for no ice and ask for a cup of ice on the side. If you want convenience while also being environmentally friendly you can do light ice. Me and a friend used to get 2 drinks no ice and a cup of ice on the side. We’d end up with basically 4 full drinks to fuel our long 6-10 hour college days

There’s an easy remedy for the situation. Stop giving them your money. The only way prices drop and quality improves is starving these grasping share holders of their profits. They lie and tell you everything is soooo expensive for them to run. Don’t believe a word. How much you think Starbucks pays its coffee/matcha/tea farmers? Corporations will be the death of every one of us.

  23. mearbearcate

Ask for light ice, that stupid amount of ice is how its always been.

  24. c0micsansfrancisco

It’s them being sneaky. Worse, when I asked for no ice, they only filled my cup halfway

  25. millenniumxl-200

    First there was piss.

    Then came piss discs.

    Now, behold! Piss nuggets!

Why would you complain about something you can make yourself? Just make your drinks at home. Pre-make them and pour them over as much ice as you want. Starbucks sells nearly all of their ingredients at grocery stores.
