Looks really good, cast iron I assume?

Looks enough like Detroit style to me, even though it’s round. I’d get outside of that in a hurry

They look pretty detroitish other than the fact that they’re round.

This is just a question of shape, everything else looks consistent with the Detroit style.

So then the question becomes, can a round pizza ever *truly* be considered Detroit style? I don’t know.

I mean, yes, in a way… But also look like traditional pan pizzas, like from Pizza Hut or Domino’s…

    Detroit man, bring the square!

Looks like kenjis pan pizza recipe which is always very good. But not Detroit style.

  7. I know what good Detroit pans cost. I vote we don’t gate keep and call those Detroit.

It’s got the crispy cheese edges, so I’m good with calling it Detroit. But I can loan them a Lloyd pan if they need it.

Round peg, square hole, but other than that it’s in the ballpark, I’d just call it a cast iron pan pizza to avoid controversy. Looks delicious as fuck either way

  10. These look great but are not Detroit style. Like NY and Neapolitan styles, Detroit style is very specific. Square is rule #1.

I would start a fire in the bathroom trash as an excuse to run outside with the entire pie

as someone who grew up and lives in metro Detroit, this looks better than most places around here regardless of shape

  13. Pequod’s in Chicago is along these lines—round thick pan pizza with cheese to the edge forming the charred crust.
