What do you think is the best glass for the price? I’m debating on several brands. Gabriel glas, Josephine #3, Zalto, Somm, SWRL.

Gabriel glas
Least fragile so you won’t be buying replacements as much.

Gabriel StandArt and be done with it…

Giacomo Conterno’s Sensory glasses are my go to. Sorry to add to the confusion OP

Isn’t SWRL Chinese? They do everything to conceal their identity, manufacturing and HQ location. Even AI failed at tracing their Headquarters!

Gabriel Glas is super durable,

I may be an outlier but I have the white and red wine glasses from MadeIn and they’re thin and very durable. Don’t tell anyone but I put them in the dishwasher and they handle it just fine. Haven’t had a single one break in over 2 years

For 95% of the refinement of Zalto or Grassl but 1/2 the price, look no further than Spiegelau’s Definition line.
Hands down the best bang for your buck in the fine wine glass category.
I love my Grassl glasses but I would bet very few ppl would notice the difference.

I have some Gabriel glas standart and gold. The golds really are something. I prefer them a bit over zaltos.
But for the price, I’ll also throw in a vote for speigelau definitions

I love Zalto… but damn are they delicate… I’ve broken 2…1 just hand washing it… and they’re pricey to replace. For a modern less traditional wine glass I’m rather fond of Villeroy & Boch’s MetroChic line… beautiful modern lines, crystal and durable (more so than Zalto) but at $105 for two can be pricey but not as much as a few mentioned on here.

Spiegelau definition.

I have and recommend both Gabriel and Spiegelau Definition. Very close to the most expensive glassware. If you go with Gabriel and want a little more performance, then also get and reserve the Gabriel Glas Gold for your best bottles. I also recommend the Definition’s Bordeaux and Pinot variants for the same idea.

I dont have experience with all of the mentioned brands, but I use personally use Josephinenhütte when we serve fine wines and everyone is always very impressed with the experience.
I think they are all very high quality and ultimately It might just be a question of personal taste tomorrow than quality.

Riedel is good enough for me

Throwing my vote in for the Nude Stem Zero line….I appreciate their durability for an elegant glass that’s on par with the brands you’ve mentioned. I have several and they’re great!

For performance of taste/aromas from an actual science perspective — I really think the Riedel Chardonnay oaked veritas, Richard Brendon Burgundy glass, or the Soldera glass. But if you want aesthetic//feels expensive — join the Zalto, Nude stem zero, grassl, etc.
Tbh if you look at the science of volatile compounds — most of the zalto, grassl, and nude range aren’t fantastic. But I think mood and feel deffo can factor in to your experience as a whole.

As someone who used to have Gabriel Glas standards. Get Spiegelau definitions. They are better designed and better made.
