First pic looked like a dubai chocolate at first glance.
Second pic made me realize it’s a very tasty, perfectly cooked steak. I wish I could get that perfect of a crust.

That’s medium rare. If it was medium you’d have a bit of a band of cooked meat around the entire edge say about an 1/8th of an inch and red in the middle. Medium rare is edge to edge red which is what you have there. Nice cook btw.

This is what the picture of medium would be to explain it on the menu at a restaurant. I’m not sure if you were shooting for medium rare but this steak looks like it hit medium and then time froze.
