Where are my South Carolinians?? Reply to this comment: what town you are from in SC? 🔽
I’m so excited to watch this series! Looking forward to cooking this recipe & definitely will try the grits featured, always love a good Shrimp & Grits. Love South Carolina, especially Murrells Inlet and Garden City Beach.
Please make sure when you do Ohio you don’t forget to feature those of us who live along Lake Erie we love our Walleye and Perch here in Ottawa County along with our very own northern Key West aka Put In Bay. Port Clinton Ohio is the Walleye Capital of the World and every year drops a silly Wylie the Walleye on New Years that has been featured on national TV. Everyone features Ohio State and Buckeyes but there is so much more out there 😉
The best shrimp and grits I've ever had was in Lancaster SC at a hole in the wall called Grandmas house cafe. I still dream about them!
Woohoo!!!! Texas in the house!!! My guess is chili or bbq. But honestly depending on what part of Texas you’re from there are so many “Texas” inspired foods. And we can’t forget Tex-Mex. Texas might deserve 2 videos lol❤ this is going to be a great series.
Omg, droolin over the shrimp n grits!
The town i always think of is Summerville SC. I lived there for about 4 years. I loved it. I like sugar and butter in my grits
I love sugar on my grits, too! My aunt ate mustard on hers. She was from Alabama.
Texas – has to be Tex Mex! Or brisket!
Hi Mandy and Steven. My Hubby love Grits. He likes his with salt and pepper. But i'm a sweet grits girl. We live in Tenn., So we know our grits. We love Shrimp and grits. Yours look delicious. Can't wait to see what you make from Texas. Maybe some Chili !! Thanks for sharing, we love you guys. Have a Blessed weekend. 🤗😘💕
My parents both put butter and sugar on their grits and so do I. They’re from Indiana.
Gurl! This was fantastic! Just had it for lunch, and it looked so fancy. My husband and I both really enjoyed… thank you!!
Great idea! Can't wait!❤
Great idea Mandy
Grits are the MOST horrible dish ever invented.
So, I think most Texans can agree that brisket is the quintessential meat of Texas, but as far as a meal? Brisket and Charro beans. Or tamales.
Definitely sweet grits for me! I’ve never had savory.
Love shrimp and grits!
Steven’s excitement sold me! 😁I love seeing you two together. Y’all are adorable and I can tell he is your biggest fan. So sweet. Can’t wait to try it here in North Carolina! 🍤 Love the 50 state idea! Can’t wait to see what dishes you pick from each state! 🌎
I’m team Sweet! Sugar, butter, and a drizzle of milk or cream. Love doing the same thing with white rice, cream of wheat, or oatmeal. Love this idea on your channel. Keep up the good work!
I am a savory grit person, but my husband is a sugar grit person.
Hey Mandy Ive never had grits,,,Well i have,,,but I thought it was Cream of wheat 🤪🤪😝😝 but that`s another story. My sister has lived in Charleston since the early 70`s and loves low cooking. your hubby looks great. he`s lost some weight! Love your videos!
Love shrimp and grits! Love from Texas!
Sugar and butter in my breakfast grits
I like the sugar in my grits too! I did not like grits that much until I put the sugar in them.
You’re the FIRST person to add sugar to grits!! YESSSSSSS. I much prefer sugar in my grits! ❤️
OMG! My mouth is watering. I eat grits a lot with butter, cheese, salt & pepper. I would love to try this but since my husband refuses to eat grits, well……🙄
I’m so excited to see what you make from each state! 🤗
I do sugar and milk in my grits for breakfast..it's a Missouri thing!!
Don't like grits At all!!! I have tried! I do like hominy. Grits are ground hominy.
When you come to Indiana, you need to show the Hoosier tenderloin sandwich!!
Fantastic episode. South Carolina shrimp and grits deserved this level of storytelling. This new series is just going to keep getting better. Can’t wait for the next episode and state!
I will definitely order those grits and the GF cornbread mix. Are the grits in New Orleans different than those you made? I was in NOLA last July. I had shrimp and grits that blew my mind.
I love this idea for a series! I'm Australian & I'm excited to learn more about the states, their different cultures, and the state specific foods. Love you guys!
I freaking LOVE this series idea! And I love the cartoon graphic of you and Steven! I live in the midwest now (Kansas City, hoping you'll give our BBQ a try!), but I was born and raised in the South (Florida, along the Gulf Coast)! So I grew up on shrimp and grits! These look amazing!
My husband puts sugar on his grits.
I'm a sugar in my grits kinda girl!! I'm from Michigan, but love my grits!
I like sugar and a little raspberry jam in my grits for breakfast.
Mandy, from northern part of North Carolina and my niece puts sugar in her grits. I have tried sugar in grits not a fan of it.
Woohoo!! So excited for this series!! 🥰
No
We do both kind of grits!
I ordered some corn grits from the company you linked. I can't wait to make your shrimp and grits recipe!
Will you do another video of other dinners you can make with grits? Now that I have a bag of corn grits, I'm wondering what other dishes can be made.
Hi Mandy I’m looking forward to this series. I live in Florida and I have had some wonderful shrimp and grits.
Steven looks like he is loosing weight
It's polenta for me, as my Italian heritage made it, all the time.
I am from Maryland and you HAVE to do Crab cakes MD Style! Now I have been living in WI since 2011 so I would also say that you HAVE to do cheese curds and or cream puffs!
I love how excited Steven gets when he tries your food. I know what recipes to try with his reaction. Love y’all together.
Never had, but you have made me want to share with family.
I’ve eaten grits but never with shrimp. I visited South Carolina. We had a waiter that had NEVER had fresh salsa. I still think about him. So sad!
