For my taste, three additional years is perfect for the 2020. 4 for the 2021.

Just opened a 2019 bourgogne rouge on the weekend. Was good and very drinkable but slightly disappointed by the lack of depth.

Don’t be afraid to drink any of these now, aging wine, especially pinot, is kind of overhyped IMO

  6. hasn’t been mentioned yet but 2020 and 2021 are two very different vintages. The 2021 aren’t going to last a long time, I’d say you can absoultely drink those now. I’ve had 2021s from mugnier and rousseau that haven’t shut down and are drinking really well.

The 2020 I’d hold off for another 5-7 years. Particularly with Barthod, as they take a while to come around.

Had the 2021 CM in Paris last week. Good but too young. I agree with the other posts: wait another few years before popping the cork on this one.

It’s great that you got these and are excited to share, but this sub is really for sharing tasting notes. Can you imagine how cluttered it would be if everyone also posted wines they were planning on saving? You have 3, two of which are the Bourgogne, almost certainly meant for earlier drinking than the Chambolle. Pick one of the Bourgogne (I’d choose ’21, they are drinking early a lot more readily than the more concentrated ’20s) and pop it tonight!!! It’ll be absolutely delicious but don’t take my word for it- let us know what you think.
