Still looking to purchase a cast iron and a sous vide, but thought it came out ok with the tools I had.

    Yeah i made plenty of steaks that had a better crust than 50% of the steaks shown on this subreddit. Only using a $10 Teflon 8″ skillet with a $20 portable induction stove.
