Yes. I occasionally fuck them up because I get nervous about fucking them up. Then I’ll get a shitty Chuck eye a few weeks later and nail it. Bummer.

I just focus on manifesting the flavor as I cook. Takes my mind away from the possibility of screwing up

No. There is no such thing. Instead of how it looks, I might get nervous about how much a steak cost me. Like if I got myself an A5 Wagyu that costs some obscene amount of money, I would try my best to not F that steak up. But most of my steaks are reasonably priced.
That steak does look pretty.

All. The. Time. But now I just buy 2 steaks every single time, bc I know it’s impossible to get it perfectly cooked for both my wife and i. I enjoy mine far more rare on the medium rare range. So it costs a lot more, and we usually have left over steak, but it’s worth it and takes the pressure off.

Yes. I feel like I must avoid even mild disappointment when I’ve got a great and/or expensive cut. Like a perfect medium rare but had to pull before the sear was perfect. Or a really great sear but ends up medium. Even if it still tastes amazing, the “Knew I should’ve”s slightly affect the experience lol.

I just pray and let Jesus take the tongs
Yeah, but this isn’t it for me.
