Grasso’s creamy vodka sauce

The Saucerer has teamed up with Soho’s Italian American restaurant Grasso to launch a creamy tomato vodka sauce. The sauce is inspired by Grasso’s family recipe and contains Sapling Climate Positive Vodka, which is quadruple distilled from British wheat, as well as tomato, cream and spice. The sauce uses sustainably sourced ingredients, including organic coconut cream, and its production is powered by 100% renewable solar energy.

First press olive oil

Spanish food importer Mevalco has introduced Novo by O-Med extra virgin olive oil. Novo is produced in Spain and made from the first press of Picual olives, creating an intense and fresh emerald-green oil with a gentle spice. It can be drizzled over ripe tomatoes, poured on grilled fish or served with crusty bread.

Flavours of the Levant region

Paulig Pro from Santa Maria has launched the Levant collection, a range of six Eastern Mediterranean sauces, seasonings and pastes that are lactose-free and suitable for vegans. Shawarma blends paprika, cumin and lemon zest with coriander, cinnamon and chilli; zaatar features earthy and herbal notes paired with sesame and sumac; harissa sauce has spicy and smoky flavours with chilli heat and citrus; tahini sauce is nutty and earthy with sesame notes and lemon; preserved lemon paste contains both lemon pulp and juice; and chermoula pesto features coriander and parsley, with vinegar, chilli and garlic.

Gourmet olive oils

Chilli No 5 has launched its first Picante Olive Oil collection. The collection of Spanish olive oils includes Picante Classico, infused with garlic, chilli, rosemary and thyme; Picante Garlic, containing garlic and chilli extracts; and Picante Truffle, a blend of truffle and chilli. Each oil is bottled in matte-black glass to shield it from light and protect its flavour and freshness.
