Featuring Locally Handcrafted Pasta and a Suite of New Signature Appetizers

San Paolo Pizza & Wine, a beloved fixture in Honolulu’s dining scene, is proud to kick off the new year by officially announcing a significant expansion of its culinary offerings. The restaurant has formally debuted its Fresh Pasta program alongside four new signature appetizers, marking a new chapter in its fusion of Italian and Brazilian traditions.

The new pasta program features fresh, locally handcrafted pasta. While a select few were introduced late last year, the program is now a permanent cornerstone of the San Paolo menu, reflecting the restaurant’s deep commitment to quality and supporting local artisans.

Celebrating Local Artisans with Fresh Pasta

San Paolo is bringing an authentic, elevated pasta experience to its guests. The official launch features three distinctive dishes::

Guests can enjoy the SPAGHETTI WITH PARMESAN FONDUTA & PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA, which features fresh spaghetti tossed in a rich, creamy Parmesan fonduta sauce and finished with delicate slices of Prosciutto di Parma.

The TAGLIATELLE BOLOGNESE presents fresh tagliatelle served with the restaurant’s signature house-made beef Bolognese sauce, slow-cooked in the traditional Italian style for maximum depth of flavor.

The ITALIAN SAUSAGE & CHERRY TOMATOES dish pairs fresh gnocchetti sardi—a short pasta—with a special recipe of locally made Italian sausage and fresh cherry tomatoes, lightly sautéed with olive oil and herbs.

A Burst of Flavor: New Appetizers Join the Menu

In addition to the fresh pasta, San Paolo has introduced four innovative appetizers, adding more variety and flair to the start of the meal:

New items include Polpettine da Nonna, bite-size house-made beef meatballs in a special Marinara Sauce, garnished with a Parmesan Crisp.

The Roasted Eggplant with Parmesan Fonduta offers a gluten-free and vegetarian option, featuring pan-roasted eggplant served with creamy Parmesan Fonduta, toasted pine nuts, and parsley gremolata.

For a unique savory option, the Cheese Waffle with Gamberetti (gluten-free) is a house-made cheese waffle topped with shrimp, Catupiry cheese, Rosé Dressing, and Lemon Zest.

The menu rounds out with the Caprese à la San Paolo, an elevated twist featuring Stracciatella, fresh tomatoes, garlic-infused olive oil, basil oil, and tomato gelée, garnished with fresh basil and black pepper.

The menu also highlights the Deep Fried Creamy Brie Cheese, a recent addition that has quickly become a standout fan favorite. This decadent dish features breaded and deep-fried Brie, served with thin Parmesan Pizza Dough slices, covered in Honey and Balsamic, and garnished with Chives and sliced Almonds.
