Found my favorite salsa via this sub last year. A few days ago, after I emailed feedback, the founder personally dropped off three jars for me to try!

A year ago I posted [Where can one find quality store-bought salsa in Manhattan?](https://www.reddit.com/r/FoodNYC/comments/1h16oh4/where_can_one_find_quality_storebought_salsa_in/) on this subreddit and by far the most upvoted response was Jalapa Jar. Lawd, you all don’t miss, because it immediately became the best jarred salsa I’ve ever tried anywhere, and now every time I’m shopping at Whole Foods I try to pick one up.
This past weekend I had emailed them some product feedback and the founder replied and asked for my address. I assumed he was going to drop something in the mail, but to my surprise he showed up the next evening at my building toting three jars of salsa!
This is why I buy local.

Saving this to pick them up on my next Whole Foods visit

This is really cool. What’s your favorite flavor. I’ve never heard of this brand but will definitely give it a try as a result of your post

Their seasonal salsa: orange chipotle is extremely good. I get it very frequently with their burritos which are also pretty good

Jalapa Jar is one of the things I miss most since moving in June! I used to go to their breakfast taco stand in the Clark Street station way back. Was bummed when they closed the kiosk, but excited to see them a few years later in Whole Foods!

I work in the same building as them

I can’t buy it because I eat half the jar in a single sitting.

Omg I love that stuff!! That’s so cool

I gotta try, is it only at Whole Foods to your knowledge ?

This shit actually rocks. I kind of discounted it because maybe the branding made it feel yuppy, but I bought it randomly and it whipped

Roommate bought this shit and I tried a little. Was so good I had to finish the jar out of compulsion. Needless to say he was pissed.

As a former Texan I’ve been sticking to a few brands they recently started to carry around nyc. I look up this brand to find it’s made by former Texans. Ill have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.

That is really awesome and makes me inclined to try it again!

I saw the hot and very hot labels too. Debating which one to try first.

This brand is so good! The branding is very minimalism but their habanero one is almost addictive.

Ok fine I need this now

Jalapa Jar is so good. Best quality jar salsa I’ve found!

Their salsa is good. I stopped buying it after finding glass in the jar. 🤷🏽♂️

I’m picking some up this weekend, thanks for the post. I need good salsa in my life. Transplant from Chicago where I would just buy quarts from some of my fav taquerias

My favorite as well. Shocking how hard it is to get a salsa that doesn’t have oil, sugar, or artificial crap in it…
Warm_Question6473
This brand is delicious! I’ve even got my parents hooked
ClairvoyanceSC2
These are for sure the best!

TYSM!!! I ordered the six pack of different ones and just cracked open the Sweet & Heat and it’s amazing.

I wish they had a salsa without cilantro!
